Read the reflective surface

The aircraft becomes a map of the light.

Polished paint, metal nacelles, curved fuselage panels and deep wheel shadows each reveal a different property of the source.

Engine & metallic highlight

Curved metal creates concentrated specular highlights. Small changes in camera position move those highlights dramatically.

Fuselage reflection

The body reflects the engine, sky and ramp. Reflections communicate shape even where texture is minimal.

Profile and line

Side light defines window rhythm, paint stripes and the long aerodynamic flow of the fuselage.

The shadow becomes a second aircraft shape, adding scale, direction and graphic tension to the frame.

Shadow as composition

The cast shadow can lead the eye, balance empty ramp space and reveal the source angle without showing the sun.
